Rodeo in Ellicotville - July 4th weekend

I went to my first rodeo over this past holiday weekend. It was quite enjoyable and entertaining. There was bucking horse riding, calf wrangling and bull riding. Sadly I wasn't able to get any photos of the bull riding, but here are some other photos I captured.

The very first rider had the horse fall on top of him. Both the rider and the horse were okay, however no other scares throughout the show.

The rodeo clown was hilarious. He did a good job of distracting between riders. Here his horse is giving him trouble.

Getting ready to let the horse and rider out of the cage can be a scary business.

A sort of intermission skit where he had a rocket for the crowd that kept not going off and finally backfired on him. It was quite a loud bang. And I believe the other thing exploded, as in not the rocket.

And so the calf wrangling begins.

Tying them up fast and smooth is a must.

Went to Ellicotville, NY to watch the pond skimming event. Took lots of photos, here are some highlights

As soon as me and my pals arrived at Pleasant Lake in the Adirondacks I ran down with my camera to take these pictures. We arrived at the perfect time. I did not see better sunsets the rest of our stay. I'm glad I got these!

I noticed the strange lightness of the sky at 9pm tonight. It was a weird orangy color then it started turning pink. And before I knew it, it was over. So I snapped a few photos to capture the moment.

Went to California for a week to visit my brother, Anthony. Here several photos I captured while there.

This was taken at the La Brea tarpits. Some of the tar is visible on these rocks.

Autumn Nature Walk

Cool wooden bridge. Quite wobbily, but only like 1 foot off the ground. I guess there used to be water underneath, but now its all dried up.

I wonder who these people are and what kind of name is Dovie? If thats what it says.

After our walk in the woods, my shoes and socks were soaked through. I enjoyed a nice air dry on the ride home.

Lockport Canal Day

These pictures were taken in Lockport at the Erie Canal Cave tour. The bridge featured in these pictures is a famous 'upside down' bridge. Created so big boats couldnt travel through and freight would have to be carried by train.

The water in the canal has to be raised/lowered 5 times in order to pass through. This man made system was made in the 1800s but then remade more recently to be more effective.

These stairs lead to an exit of the cave which can be seen at the top left of the picture.

Sadly i tried to take pictures inside the cave, but i would have needed more time and a tripod seeing as it was too dark. There were other people taking the tour so i couldnt take up everyone else's time. :(

All in all, a fun tour. I recommend it to anyone.

So, I was browsing my one college buddie's page and on his youtube he had a link to this girl's youtube who was in my basic film class two summers ago. so of course i clicked on it, and i found this! I beleive at the time I didnt care who had the master film reel. But i suppose i do now. Oh well here it is. I helped with everything but acting, and she added the music and titles to it.

I took a class last semester where I filmed dance/movement. It was tricky but fun at the same time because we could not direct the dancers, we were basically just walking around the room gathering footage and coming up with edits afterward. These six pictures were done using a 4x5 view camera. They are part of a 15 print series I did on 15 different people's favorite pairs of shoes. The view camera creates really nice high resolution prints, however it is... let's say 'super fun'... to work with..

p.s. these images when blown up and printed large scale look phenomenal. gotta love the view cam!
